Brex Newborn Session - Logan, Utah Photographer

Parents of newborns often worry about how their sessions will go. They might ask, "will my baby sleep? Will my baby cry a lot? Will the older sibling(s) cause problems?" And I get it! It's totally normal to worry about what your session might be like, but let me promise you that even if the session isn't going the way you thought it would, I will still be able to deliver beautiful photos. I've had experience with many sad babies, toddlers that don't want to cooperate, and stressed parents. My biggest tip to you is to stay calm. The calmer you are, the more likely you are to get great photos! I wish that everyone could have been in my newborn session with the Menendez Family, because Nick and Lindsey were the epitome of calm, cool, and collected when things weren't going their way! Their baby boy didn't always want to sleep, and their toddler got sad herself, but they were able to get some really great photos because they let me do my job!

Nick and Lindsey are an amazing couple! Before I met Lindsey I knew she was organized and based on our communications. She is a Marriage and Family Therapist and an absolutely amazing mother. She is patient and loving and gentle with her kids and it was inspiring to watch her care for them. Nick compliments her perfectly. He is calm and patient too and rolls with all the punches. Together they can be spontaneous, but they're also structured. They are chill, but also love to be on the go. They are happiest outside, but totally content to be inside watching a movie and relaxing. They wear their hearts on their sleeves when it comes to their kids and radiate happiness.

The oldest child, and proudest big sister, of the Menendez Family is Mauri, pronounced like Marlkey without the 'L'. She is 19 months old and sweet to her core. She is organized like her mother and loves to clean as much as her dad! During our session she had a few moments of sadness, but was mostly happy and it was very easy to get her to smile and laugh. And when she did smile her little gap-tooth grin it lit up the room! She is still pretty young to help with the big things when it comes to her new little brother, but she tries her hardest to help care for him. It's easy to see in her eyes just how much she loves her new little brother. They will have a sweet bond as they grow up together!

Brex is the newest member of the family. Just like his big sister, he had some moments of real sadness during our session, but Nick and Lindsey let me do my thing and we were able to get some really great photos of him and the family. Despite the sadness, Brex was a sweet little soul. He has the most perfect newborn features. I loved the flaky skin on his toes because they really embody the newborn characteristics. They wrinkly, flaky skin and tiny features don't last forever so I always want to capture then when I can for the memories! Brex is deeply loved by his parents and sister. Lindsey told me before the session that she sincerely didn't know this kind of love existed and that she really loves being their mama. And it's true. There isn't a more pure form of love than that of a parent and child!
