Full Newborn Session - Logan, Utah Photographer

Updated: Aug 10, 2022

My most popular type of newborn session is my Full Newborn Session. This session lasts up to 3 hours and is done in my home studio. During the Full Newborn Session a lot of things go on. First, I start with the lifestyle family session. This portion of the photoshoot last about 30-45 minutes. I spend time taking pictures of mom and dad with the baby, mom and the baby, dad and the baby, and I incorporate any other children you may have into the photos. I don't necessarily do the photos in that order because some kids need a minute to warm up to the camera while others "lose" interest quickly and need their photos to be taken first. The lifestyle portion of the shoot is meant to be very fluid and low stress for everyone. After the lifestyle family portion, the dad, or another trusted adult, gets to take your older child(ren) either home, for a walk, or wherever you see fit for them to go. Some families find it easier to bring two cars and other families plan on the dad coming back.

After the lifestyle portion, I move on to the posed newborn session to capture all the details of your new baby. For this portion I have an assortment of headbands, hats, and wraps in my studio. You are welcome to bring or include other items, like an ultrasound, special blanket, stuffed animal, family heirloom, etc. if you would like. During this portion I'm only working with your newborn so you can choose what she wants to do during this time. There is wifi you can connect to if you'd like. Many moms like to sit close and watch their perfect little baby. Other moms choose to take a nap (yes, please!) while some just want to sit and enjoy some quiet time to themselves scrolling through social media, working on something they need to, but mostly enjoying the feeling of not needing to do something else. You are welcome to do or not do whatever you'd like during this portion of the photoshoot. After I am finished with the posed newborn portion, our session is over.
