Oliver Newborn Session - Logan, Utah Photographer

Updated: Mar 18, 2022

My latest newborn baby spent a few "bonus" days in the hospital and came to our photoshoot with the marks to prove it. If you've had a baby that's has had to spend extra days in the hospital or has been jaundice, you know that your baby will probably have a lot of blood drawn. If you haven't, then you should know the way they draw a baby's blood is by making a small slice in their heel. In the case of an extra stay, the baby made need their blood taking several times which means several slices on each heel. It pulls at your heart and makes you so sad, but I guess it's better than a needle?

This sweet little boy I had the pleasure of meeting is named Oliver. Despite his extra stay in the hospital and his battle wounds to show for it, he is perfect. He is the first baby for his parents and they cannot get enough of him! He was so darling and sweet for our photoshoot and even graced me with opening his eyes and being alert. I love a good sleeping baby and think they make for some beautiful photos, but I also love capturing some sweet, big newborn eyes.

Oliver's parents are several things. First, they are champs for having their baby spend a few extra days in the hospital. That is no joke and takes a special kind of strong! They are also incredibly intelligent. They're both software developers for Utah State University. And last, they are both fairly introverted people and they are the perfect match. They have been married for a little over 4 years and have spent a lot of their time together with their cute dog Whiskey. Even though Whiskey is family to them, they are so excited to have a human edition to their family and they cannot stop spending all their time loving on sweet Oliver.
