Golden Wildflower Hillside – Logan, Utah Family Photography Location
If you're dreaming of glowing golden flowers, sweeping valley views, and magical mountain backdrops for your family photos, this tucked-away wildflower hillside just 10 minutes from North Walmart in Logan, Utah is a hidden gem you’ll love. Best of all? Mid-May is the peak bloom season, and the hills come alive with stunning yellow wildflowers that photograph like a dream.
This location offers a mix of beauty and simplicity — endless yellow wildflower fields, soft golden light, and serene views of distant mountains. It’s the perfect setting for young families, couples, or maternity sessions who want something natural and vibrant. We usually begin the session about 1 hour before sunset, when the light begins to pour across the field and gives everything a magical glow.
The setting includes:
Rolling hills blanketed with vivid yellow wildflowers
A scenic dirt road that adds a rustic, romantic touch
Mountain ranges in the far distance and also closer-up for variety
Ideal lighting direction for both wide scenic shots and intimate moments
A few things to keep in mind:
Part of the drive is on a dirt road, which is usually fine for cars, but higher-clearance vehicles are recommended if there’s been any recent rain.
Parking is extremely limited — this is not a location suitable for extended family sessions or caravans of cars.
Because of its charm, this spot is one I only offer for small family sessions or individuals who want a quiet, golden field moment. We’ll move around the field and take advantage of both the bright florals and the soft mountain silhouette that emerges as the sun begins to dip.
If you're hoping for a session in this breathtaking, short-season location, reach out early! This hillside is at its best for only a couple of weeks in May — and it’s absolutely worth the wait.
