After a year of not being allowed in a hospital, I was so excited to be back and photographing a fresh 48 session. This was a quick mini session in the hospital to capture the moments that are so fleeting after birth. Babies change really quickly after they are born so Jemma's session was full of wrinkly skin and tiny feet and hands so those features wouldn't be forgotten.
Jemma was born on April 17th. She has one big brother that was at home with dad during our fresh 48, and I'm looking forward to photographing the whole family for Jemma's newborn session soon!! I was able to capture a few photos of Jemma and her mom, Teanna. There is something truly special about a mom holding her newborn baby so soon after birth. It's a feeling that is difficult to put into words, but easily captured in photos. When I asked Teanna what she wanted to remember about this stage of life she said, "I want to remember the little details. How small their hands were, the wrinkles in their feet, their laugh. They grow up so fast and I don't want to forget those little things." I really couldn't have said it better myself.
