Six short months ago the Rockwood Family was at my in-home studio with me taking newborn photos of their first baby Beau. Now, half a year later, I was blessed to see them again and take some updated family photos for them! Just like the last time I saw him, Beau was so darn cute and sweet. He is the happiest little guy with big, blue eyes, and fuzzy, wispy blonde hair. During his newborn session, Beau had a head full of dark brown hair so the lack of hair and the fact that it was blonde was a drastic change to me. Another fun change for Beau are the two bottom teeth he has coming in! This milestone is fun and exciting for just about everyone but Beau who would probably tell you that getting teeth isn't much fun. But Beau is the kind of baby that seems to be happy and calm despite his pain or problems. He is so fun to be around and I have loved being able to photograph him!
Amy and Blake showed up to our session with the best tradition. Each year when they have family photos taken, they bring with them a framed photograph of themselves dating back to their beginnings. As each year passes, they have more and more photographs within photographs. It was the coolest thing to see them through the years and a tradition I would recommend to couples just starting out. It seemed like a fun way to watch their family change throughout the years. I find it so special when couples and families want to include mementos into their sessions and I welcome the fun ideas they bring with them.
Besides a growing Beau, another change in the Rockwood Family is Blake growing a mustache. If you haven't noticed, men in mustaches is a growing trend across the United States thanks to one of the greatest movies of all time... Top Gun: Maverick. If you haven't already seen it, do yourself a favor and go watch it before it leaves the theaters! Now, I don't know if this movie is what inspired Blake's mustache, but either way, it was a fun change and he pulls it off quite nicely! Amy, of course, was as beautiful as ever and the two of them compliment each other so well. It was fun to see them again and get to catch up during their session!
