Lainey Newborn Session - Logan, Utah Photographer

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is the community that comes with it. I get to watch other photographers learn and grow and overcome hurdles and succeed and they watch me do the same. All the while we cheer each other on and celebrate the wins together. When another photographer asks me to take their photos, I take it as a huge compliment. It feels like a whole other level of trust and it's an honor for me. This newborn session was one of those honors. Kylee Green and I have followed each other on Instagram for a long time. We have been cheerleaders for each other so when she reached out tome I was thrilled. This session was our first time meeting face to face and we had such a blast together.

Kylee and her husband, Justin, recently added a fourth baby to their family. Kenidy is 7 and the oldest of the family. She has the cutest freckles speckled across her cheeks and nose. She is a lover of animals, the outdoors and her new baby sister. Vince is 5 and the most shy of the kids. He has a big heart and is sweet to his very core. Trucks and Dinos are his favorite thing and although he is shy, he would love to play either one with you. The used-to-be caboose of the family is Walker. He is 3 years old and holds true to the mold of a 3 year old boy. He has a mischievous smile and likes to live life a bit on the wild side. Surprisingly, he wasn't upset in the least to have the title of youngest child stolen from him. He loves being a big brother and it totally suits him.

Lainey is the newest member of the family. She is tiny and darling and has deep blue newborn eyes. I know because she kept her eyes open for most of our session together! It was a fun change for me because most of my newborns keep their eyes shut and try to pretend like I'm not bothering them. But not Lainey. She showed us the tiny blue eyes and won me over pretty quickly with them.

Kylee and Justin have been married for almost 10 years. As I already mentioned she is a photographer and she is very easy going and laid back. Her husband is the opposite. Kylee describes him as the stressed of the family and let's be honest, there is always one in every couple—he's not alone! Both of them are sleep deprived, but feel that they have been greatly blessed in their life. This phase of life for any parent is hard. Full of tears and frustrations and inadequacy. But all of that and more makes the phase with little kids one of the most sacred stages of life. Kylee reminded me of that and I'm so grateful she did. All parents know...we are in the trenches, but being a parent is a huge blessing!
